We enjoy sharing a mixed class in Y5/6 where we get to take the most appropriate parts from each year’s curriculum to support each child to make the best progress they can.

Our class teacher is Mrs Coats. We cover many topics in Year 5/6 including Coastlines and World War 2. This year we have had the chance to go on residential to Northumberland (Y6) or Stratford (Y5) to support our topics.

Our current topic is: Should We Follow the Crowd? We are using the story of Hansel and Gretel to help us decide what is right and wrong.

In all topics we enjoy the opportunity to put our learning into real context. Last term, whilst studying World War 2, we designed and made a rationing pie. As part of this topic this term, we are designing a set for the stage production of Hansel and Gretel at the Royal Opera House.
